Engineering Design Pathway - Chico High

OVERVIEW - The Chico High School Engineering Design Pathway is a 3 or 4 year sequence of coursework moving students from an Introduction to CAD/Engineering Design through to our Advanced Engineering Design course that includes work-based learning as a semester 2 requirement. STANDARDS - Students completing either pathway (3 or 4 courses) will engage 28/30 Engineering Design Pathway Standards (identified) as a composite of the corresponding outlines. PREPARATION FOR CAREERS AND COLLEGE - Our local industry advisory panel represents 5 local engineering firms along with a lead instructor from the Engineering Design Departments of both our local community college (Butte-Glenn Community College) and university (CSU, Chico State). This advisory panel meets quarterly, and is joined by our Advanced Engineering Design instructor/dept. chair at our initial fall meeting to validate our final assessments/projects for our concentrators and capstones for input and validation from industry and post-secondary perspectives.
