Fruits Types and Processing PBL Project

In this project, students will be creating a fruit preserving project. Through each lesson, students will be learning about different facets of fruits. In the first lesson, students will discover what fruits are and identify the 8 categories of fruits. Students will conduct a flower part dissection lab in the second lesson in order to better understand the principle of how fruits are pollinated and grown. In the third lesson, students will learn the after harvest process for fruits. Students will also evaluate and critique apples according to the USDA standards. Finally to complete this project, students will design and create a canning recipe, as well as label for their product. This project is brought to you by Natalie Borba with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team and detailed coordination provided by Team Lead Laura Gallardo.
