"The Next Pandemic and the New Normal"

The COVID-19 global pandemic has led to major changes in our everyday lives, it has meant changing how we do everything. COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, it has caused unprecedented disruption to billions of human lives. There are many factors involved in the emergence of new infectious diseases or the re-emergence of “old” infectious diseases. While some factors result from natural processes such as the evolution of pathogens over time, many are results of human behavior and practices. To help students learn more about disease transmission and how these outbreaks of infectious diseases can spread rapidly and turn from an epidemic to a pandemic. Our new normal includes staying healthy, for students, that process starts with understanding germs, and how a virus-like COVID-19 can quickly spread through populations.
