What is a Diet?

This is a 4 lesson unit which explores 4 diet plans:  The Mediterranean Diet, Paleo Diet, Keto Diet and My Plate.  Instruction will include the basics of nutrition, such as macro and micronutrients and why they are needed.  The students will explore the guidelines of the various diets and  decide which diet plan works best for their lifestyle.  They will explore the reasons why people will choose the foods they do and what would be healthy choices versus unhealthy choices.  The unit will culminate with the students preparing  a meal using one of the diet plans as a guide.  They will also present to the class a slide presentation about their projects.
