Vertical Ads: Instagram for Business and Portfolios PBL Project

One of the most popular social media platforms is Instagram, boasting over 250 million users daily. Social Media Content creators are becoming a future career opportunity for photographers, graphic designers, videographers, and artist. What is a social media content creator? It's more than just posting to Instagram. At the center of this project, students will launch their portfolio as a social media content creator. Students will explore the social media production job market, what's trending, professional software and online tools. In addition, students will create a professional presence using LinkedIn to create their profile. The culminating project is a portfolio of sample projects and a solid social media profile. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro is recommended. This project will jump-start a Social Media Content Creator's portfolio. Lessons in this Project: 1-Instagram the New Social Media Frontier: Students explore the Instagram's potential social media reach. 2-Social Media Careers and the LinkedIn Profile: Students explore social media content production careers and create their LinkedIn profile. 3-Creating Content for Instagram: Students become content creators using Adobe Spark to create content quickly. 4-I am a Social Media Content Creator: Students become Social Media Content Creators and build a profile and portfolio. This unit is brought to you by Gayle Nicholls-Ali (CTE) with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team.
