The Interpretation of Art Through Floral Designs PBL Project

Art comes in many shapes and sizes. Often times, individuals are surprised to find that floral designs fall in to the realm of art. It is not uncommon to see recreations and interpretations of various forms of artwork. This project asks students to define interpretation, investigate various forms of artwork, then choose one piece of artwork that appeals to them. Once students have an understanding of interpretation, they will be visualizing, planning, and calculating the costs of their own floral design that interprets their chosen piece of art. The conclusion of this project requires students to write their own artist statement to accompany the floral design they have physically composed. This project is brought to you by Mary Martineau with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team.
