Keeping It Professional - Communication Skills for the Pharmacy PBL Project

In this project, students will ultimately produce a pharmacy technician customer service training video in which they will role-play professionalism and soft skills and show off the "Dos and Don'ts" of being a pharmacy technician. Lesson 1 - In this lesson students will learn about nonverbal communication in the retail pharmacy. They will learn about body language and the different ways people can communicate without having to say a word. Lesson 2 - This lesson will provide students with the fundamentals of soft skills and communicating when working in the pharmacy. Lesson 3 - This lesson will go over the scope of what pharmacy technicians can or cannot say when interacting with patients. Lesson 4 - Students will collaborate to write, produce and role play 3 to 5 minute training video showing what good customer service looks like versus what it does not. They will learn the basics in script writing and be able to translate that into short production that will be able to help other pharmacy technician students learn the basics of good customer service. This project is brought to you by Helena C Polanco (CTE) with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team and detailed coordination provided by the Course Team Lead Joshua Bradley
