Basic Life Support for Adults, Adolescents/Children, Infants, and AED Use PBL Project

Basic Life Support (BLS) Project Overview The Basic Life Support Overview is a lesson plan series that takes students from Adult to Pediatric resuscitative protocols as given by the International Red Cross. Red Cross protocols were chosen as they are not subject to copyright restrictions for education use with proper attribution cited throughout. This project series is meant to be used in conjunction with practical protocols using training aids, but can be used stand alone if training aids are not available. Therefore, students will learn all the didactics associated with cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) protocols with attention also given to automated external defibrillators (AEDs). BLS Lesson Plan #1: Adult CPR BLS Lesson Plan #2: Adolescent and Child CPR BLS Lesson Plan #3: Infant CPR BLS Lesson Plan #4: AED use in CPR This project is brought to you by Scott Walker with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team and detailed coordination provided by the Course Team Lead Laura Gallardo.
