Shark Tank! Develop and Market an Agricultural Product PBL Project

Welcome to Shark Tank! This project gives students the opportunity to collaborate, research, and learn how to write in a business setting. Students will create and develop an agriculture product or service, and learn how to market it effectively. Students will work in small groups and first develop / create their product or service. They will develop and write a business marketing plan and create a presentation to high light their product / service. They will then have the opportunity to actually showcase their product / service to a panel of "sharks," which consists of local community members, school officials, and business folks in your CTE industry. Lesson 1 - Students will differentiate between successful and unsuccessful marketing strategies and start brainstorming their Shark Tank product / service. Lesson 2 - Students will develop and write a business marketing plan with their shark tank groups. Lesson 3 - Students will choose from a variety of options to develop their "pitch" presentation for their product / service. Lesson 4 - Students will pitch their agricultural product / service to a panel of "sharks," in hopes of the Sharks investing in their company. This project is brought to you by Kimberly Macintosh (CTE) with support from the CTE Online curriculum leadership team and detailed coordination provided by the Course Team Lead Erik Amerikaner.
